From Cumberland Gap.

It was reported at Lynchburg on Thursday night that the Federal army under Morgan, at Cumber, land Gap, had surrendered to the Confederate forces under Gen. Stevenson. No particulars were known, nor was it ascertained whether there was a fight previous to the capitulation. The report has some show of probability, but it has been so often repeated that we are not prepared to say it is true.

The Republican also says the private intelligence had reached that city that General Kirby Smith entered and occupied Lexington, Kentucky, on Sunday last.
