Fire

--The alarm of fire about 10 o'clock on Thursday night was caused by the burning of a blacksmith shop on Union street, leading from Franklin street to the rear of the Central Depot lot. The shop, which was adjoining the large frame residence of Mr. Jno. McKenney, soon set fire to that structure, the roof of which was burned off before the flames could be arrested. The furniture was badly injured in being removed. The loss of property in this instance was about $1,100. No insurance that we could learn of. No doubt fire was designedly communicated to the blacksmith shop.
