--Wednesday evening, Mr. Samuel Snellings, of Chesterfield, visited the house of Mr. Thomas Cox, of the same county. Shortly after this, they repaired to a store in the neighborhood, and while there an altercation ensued upon some unknown subject, in the course of which Cox drew a small penknife and cut Snellings on the arm, from the effects of which he soon bled to death. Cox immediately gave himself into the hands of the authorities. The parties were old acquaintances, and heads of families.
