Proceedings of the Courts.

Mayor's Court, Wednesday, Dec. 10th
--Recorder Caskie presiding.--Lieut. Lewis Powers, charged with getting drunk and trying to force his way into the residence of Mrs. Mary Brooks, corner of 17th and Broad streets, and using bad language to her, was required to give $500 security to keep the peace, which he did.

Mike, a darkey employed at Chimborazo Hospital, found drunk by the watch Tuesday night, with two blankets and a decanter in his possession, was ordered 25 lashes.

Dennis O'Leary was arraigned for fighting in the house of Margaret Griffin, on 17th street. It was in proof that he and others were gambling therein, and a dispute arising, a row ensued, all the parties making good their escape, save O'Leary, who was captured by the police. Defendant was committed in default of $200 security.

Beverly, slave of Wm. H. Tyree, arrested with a bowie knife in his possession, was ordered 25 lashes.

Adams and Wesley, slaves of John E. Wadsworth, found with forged passes on their persons, were ordered 39 lashes each.

Ann and Matilda, two slaves, charged with harboring and concealing Debby, slave of Mrs. Griffin, were each ordered 25 lashes.

The case of Madison Griffin, charged with forging the name of John Griffin and getting $10 from Richard Reins, was continued till Monday, the witnesses not being present.

Cornelius, slave of R. J. Jones, was ordered 25 lashes for stealing 16 pounds of butter, belonging to James W. Smith.

Hustings Court, Wednesday, Dec. 10th. --Present. Aldermen Caskie, Sanxay, Timberlake, Gwathmey and Clopton.

A nolle prosequi has entered by the Attorney for the Commonwealth in the case of Charles Foster alias Charles Rigley, charged with grand larceny.

John E. Brook and Warwick M. Woodward qualified as deputies of the High Constable, by taking the several oaths required by law.

Elizabeth Hillyard was fined $10 for permitting her slave Milly to go at large and hire herself out contrary to law.

Claiborne Murray, a lad, was examined for stealing $500 in C. S. Treasury notes from John Kloss, on the 3d of December. After hearing the evidence the defendant was discharged by the Court.

Thomas Jones and Beverly Cousins, free negroes, were tried, the first for having, on the 19th of November, stolen one calf skin of the alleged value of $30, the property of Lewis Gimmi, and the latter for receiving the same. At the valuation put on the calf skin the parties would have been guilty of grand larceny if convicted, but the Court putting aside the fictitious valuation proceeded to try Jones for petty larceny and Cousins for receiving the proceeds of his theft. Both were found guilty, and ordered each 39 lashes.

A summons was issued against John R. Allen to show cause why he should not be fined for allowing his slave, Wm. Jackson, to go at large.

A summons was issued to compel the attendance of Thomas Haggarty as a witness in behalf of Jno. W. Brown and George Hoppell, charged with grand larceny.

Ned Patterson, free negro, convicted March 13th, 1860, of remaining in the Commonwealth contrary to law, persisting in so doing, after being allowed time to go away, was brought up and sentenced to be sold as a slave.

John Rouke was found guilty of permitting his slave, Russets, to go at large, and fined $20 and the costs of Court.

C. S. District Court.--This tribunal was in session yesterday, but did nothing beyond recognizing a few witnesses to appear before the grand jury on the 10th of next January.
