Mayor's Court, Thursday, January 22.
--Eleanor Turner, a mulatto girl, arraigned on the charge of abusing Ann M. Lowry, and threatening to assault her son, was examined and discharged from the accusation.
Patrick Phelan, Wm. Clabby, Wm. Parrell, and Lewis Quinn, arrested by the police at vegrauts, proved to the satisfaction of his Honor that they had visible means of support, acquired by work, and were let off.
Wm. King, a free negro, was ordered thirty lashes for stealing a piece of meat, owned by the Confederate States--said piece of meat being in transitute one of the hospitals.
John Howard, charged with threatening personal violence towards Phillip McGhee, was required to give security to keep the peace and be of good behavior.
John Bastin, a free negro, was arraigned for entering the dwelling-house of Rev. Chas. H. Read, and stealing therefrom an overcost, valued at $35. The proof being deemed sufficient, the defendant was committed for trial before the Hustings Court.
Notes slave of Robert Saunders, was examined for breaking into a store on Broad street, between 8th and 9th, and stealing therefrom three rolls of cloth, belonging to the Confederate States valued at $1,000. The proof made it appear that not only Moses, but several other parties, had been operating in the same way. He was remanded for trial.
Confederate District Court.--The time of Judge Halyburton's Court yesterday was consumed in the trial of H. R. Roberts alias.
Wm. H. Heskins, a soldier, charged with forging a descriptive list for the purpose of defrauding the Government.
Hustings Court--Sundry wills were admitted to probate in Judge Lyons's Court yesterday, and other civil business attended to, but no criminal was arraigned for trial.
