The Prince of Wales.
--A foreign correspondent, in alluding to the recent marriage of the
Prince of
Wales, says:
‘
The marriage of the
Prince of
Wales was to him a blessed relief from the calls of artists of various sorts — crayon, oil color, water-color, sculptors, photographers.
He was doing harder work than any hired model for weeks before the wedding.
He was sitting for his full length picture to
Mr. Walton, R. A., and for his bust to
Mr. Marshall Wood, the sculptor of the Daphne, so much admired in the exhibition.
Mr. Mayall, the photographer, took him in all attitudes, and when he went to
Belgium,
Mr. Ghemar seized his every expression.
The bust mentioned is colossal, intended for a figure twelve feet high, and is to be duplicated for various council chambers throughout the realm, as well as for the
McGill College at
Montreal.
Mr. Walton's portrait of
Albert Edward represents him in a blue coat and gray trousers, with hat in hand, near
Windsor Castle; in it the resemblance to George III, is very clear.
