The Alabama.

--The London correspondent of a New York journal asserts that the chief gunner of the Alabama is the most expert artillerist even in the British navy. After being mustered out of Her Majesty's service, with the expectation of reenlisting, he joined Cape Semmes, with whom his pay is £200 sterling a month, "which, in Confederate currency, is equal to $12,000 per annum."
