--The Houston (Tex.) News, speaking of the crop in that State, says:

‘ Planters from the country give us the most accounts of our crop prospects.--They are said never before to have promising. There is said yet to be a great abundance of old corn left, and will be even when the new crop comes in. The price of corn has gone down much, and it is sold it will not be worth fifty cents a bushel in the country tow months
