The loss of the Ruby.

--The loss of the blockade-running steamer Ruby, off Charleston, Wednesday night, was caused by false lights shown by the Yankees on Folly Island, which caused her to run aground. One of her crew was killed by the fire from the Yankee infantry on the island. On Thursday afternoon our batteries on Morris Island opened upon some of the Yankees on Folly Island who had gone down to the beach and were engaged in plundering from the wreck of the Ruby. A few well directed shots compelled them to desist from their work and soon after to disappear altogether. The Yankees for a short time replied to our fire from one of their batteries on Folly Island, but failed to effect anything.
