From Tennessee suffering of the people.

Chattanooga, July 27.
--A small squad of Yankees appeared at Bridgport this morning and attempted to capture a steamboat. Our pickets gave them so warm a reception that they fled precipitately.

Parties from Middle Tennessee represent that the sufferings of the people in that portion of the State are horrible. Some of the most wealthy families are drawing rations from the Federal commissary, and others are compelled to beg bread for their families in the camp of the enemy.
