Dangerous Set.

--On James river, near the Charles City line, live a gang of free negroes who, in ordinary times, do little else than fish and hunt. Since the commencement of the war many of these negroes have been taken into Yankee employ, and are used for sounding the channel, discovering obstructions, and watching our naval operations. Like the Pamunkey (negro) Indians, near the White House, they are complete spies on the Confederate forces, and ought to be driven off or put to work on the fortifications. Some of them are quite intelligent, and have done more injury to the cause of the South than the same number of white men in any other section.--Let them be looked after.
