--Col. Logan is again at work.
A few days since he attacked the enemy, 700 strong, near Jackson, East Louisiana.
He rented them completely, killing a large number, and capturing 200 prisoners and two places of artillery.
This is official.

Atlanta, Aug. 10.
--A special to the Appeal, dated Brandon, 8th, says that Col. Logan had encountered as Jackson, La., five hundred infantry and two hundred cavalry, with two pieces of artillery.
He killed and wounded a number, captured the artillery and two hundred Yankees, also two commissary wagon.
