Go it boots.

--Jerry Sullivan, a regular bruiser in appearance, and a man to whom bad whiskey was not at all distasteful, was before the Mayor yesterday, charged with stealing a pair of boots, a coat, and a pair of pants, from Isaac Jacobs, and with assaulting Mrs. Jacobs. Jerry, it appears, was on a bender. Having exhausted his last Confed., and becoming exceedingly thirsty, he fastened upon Jacobs for a treat, and, not getting if, seized the goods and concealed a portion of them in his bosom. On being deprived of his levy he made fight, and gave Mrs. Jacobs a blow, for which he was pretty roughly handled, and then turned over to the police. The Mayor remanded him for a hearing before the Hustings Court.
