State Bank Notes are more valuable than Treasury issues, because they can be used in Yankeedom. If the Legislature were to pass a law repudiating all the money held out of the Confederacy, some of the cute Yankees now hoarding up those issues would get a stab in the pocket nerve that would materially lessen their profits on this unholy war.
