--The police had some little trouble with tipsy men, noisy women, and loitering negroes, last Saturday night, a number of whom were locked up for safe-keeping. Of this number was a negroes who professes to be free and bails from Washington city. She says she came here before "this cruel was" commenced, preferring Southern to Abolition rule, and that she has spent a portion of her time with the Confederate army, but as she has no register of freedom, and no papers to show the truth of her statement, it is generally believed that she is a runaway. Of course she will be taken care of till her status can be clearly established.

Another little matter that created some stir was the attempt of a woman to scald a soldier, who was lively on his furlough and seeking a "good time" for the evening. The madam made a great noise, and declared her life to be in danger train the "soldier boy, " who nourished an empty pistol, merely to alarm her. All in all, the night was dull, furnishing no interesting items for Court or papers.
