Rapid Driving through the streets is prohibited by law, and yet there is scarcely an hour that some thoughtless John does not dash along Grace and Marshall etc., west of 9th, at such a speed as to endanger the lives of every pedestrian that may be passing. --Yesterday morning an old lady, in crossing Grace, near 2d st., came nigh being run over by a fast horse attached to a buggy. Six miles an hour is the rate of speed allowed by law, and all who drive faster deserve and ought to be severely punished.
