A Desirable Suggestion.

--A sutler in our army, who has himself contributed liberally of his means, suggests to us that much might be done for the relief of the indigent poor of the city if the proper agents of our different benevolent associations would call upon the sutlers of the army, who are making untold sums of money, and who, as a class, are men of liberal dispositions. The sutler alluded to has for months past been giving nearly the whole of his profits for this object, and within the past three days has distributed over $1,500 to the needy of this city.
