Judge Halyburton

was engaged on Saturday in hearing a habeas corpus case of one of Captain Wren's old command, who volunteered for local service, being then exempt from military duty, but who has since then been put into general service and sent to Gloucester county to perform duty. If local service now means anywhere in the Confederacy, then all of the members of Captain Wren's old command are liable to be sent to the Rocky Mountains, or anywhere else. If it means around and within ten miles of Richmond, as stated by the Government officer, when he mustered the men in, then the Judge will relieve them from general service. The case has been continued till the 21st inst.
