Charleston, Dec. 9.
--No firing last night. All quiet this morning.


[Second Dispatch.]

Charleston, Dec. 9.
--Between 3 and 4 o'clock this afternoon the enemy opened fire on the city and threw eight shells. Fort Moultrie and the James Island batteries returned the fire, and silenced the enemy.--Five buildings were struck, but no person injured. Only six shots were fired at Sumter to day, one of which missed. No casualties.
