Major Lamar Fontaine

--This brave young officer, author of "All Quiet Along the Potomac To Night, "was, as many of our readers are aware, captured by the enemy in a skirmish near Law Reedsburg, Tenn. He was dismounted at the time of the attack, and made a gallant resistance, but was overpowered by numbers.
