Burglary.

--The front window of the tobacco store of Messrs. Smith and Krebbs, on Main street, near 14th, was relieved of one of its panes of glass by some thief on Tuesday night last, about 12 o'clock, and three boxes of tobacco were taken therefrom.--Just as the robber was in the act of removing the fourth box, however, he was discovered by officer Perdue, who immediately gave chase and run him for several squares, but did not succeed in overtaking him.--Owing to the sudden departure which the fellow was compelled to take, he was unable to carry off any of the booty which had been transferred by him from the store to the street.
