--A negro girl named Dicey, slave of Mrs. Virginia C. Lawrence, was arrested yesterday morning in the Second Market, charged with selling two cakes of butter at $8 per cake, upon the representation that they weighed a pound each, when, upon testing the matter, it was found that the two together only weighed one and a half pounds. Dicey had in her possession a pass from her mistress authorizing her to sell things in the markets. In all conscience eight dollars is a killing price for butter, without being imposed upon by light weight, and whoever is the guilty party in this case should be made to suffer.
