--Upon a warrant issued yesterday the Mayor's police searched the house of Mrs. Riley, in "Solitude," and found therein a large quantity of black sewing thread and gilt edged note paper. From the quantity and quality of the articles found the officers were led to the belief that they were not honestly come by, and therefore took charge of the thread and paper till a clear title can be shown to it. The object for which the search warrant was obtained failed, as none of the things they were looking for were found.
