Gen. Stafford.

Brigadier General L. A. Stafford, who died at the Institute Hospital on Sunday was buried yesterday. His funeral took place at 10 o'clock from the residence of Senator Semmes, of Louisiana. The sermon was preached at the First Baptist Church. Gen. Stafford was from Rapides Parish, Louisiana, and before his promotion to the rank of Brigadier commanded the 9th Louisiana regiment. He was in his 48th year, and leaves a wife and nine children. He is reputed to have been a most gallant soldier and a good and generally esteemed man.
