Negro Hiring.

--Contrary to all expectations, the prices asked for negroes this year exceed those of last. As a consequence, only those families who are compelled to have help are engaging servants, and our streets are now crowded to such an extends with idle negroes that "is almost impossible to walk a square

without being jostled against by them. Leaving out any other consideration, it is as much as the best female servants are worth for hirers to conform to the requirements of board and clothing, and parties demanding more will, in a short while, be fortunate if they obtain that.
