[4] Ἀραβῖται μὲν δή, ἔθνος καὶ τοῦτο αὐτόνομον τῶν περὶ τὸν Ἀράβιον ποταμὸν νεμομένων, οὔτε ἀξιόμαχοι δόξαντες εἶναι Ἀλεξάνδρῳ οὔτε ὑποδῦναι ἐθελήσαντες, ὡς προσάγοντα ἐπύθοντο Ἀλέξανδρον, φεύγουσιν ἐς τὴν ἔρημον.
