Λ 757: Ἀλεισίου ἔνθα κολώνη κέκληται; Plin. 4, 31: in eo cursu Tempe vocant u. a.; s. zu 31.2.6. Die Bezeichnung ist an u. St. so unbestimmt, weil die Stadt Mycenä schon 16 Jahre nach den Perserkriegen (s. Herod. 9, 28; Diod. 11, 65) zerstört worden war; vgl. Strabo 8, 6, 10, S. 372: Μυκῆναι κατεσκάφησαν ὑπ᾽ Ἀργείων, ὥστε νῦν μηδ᾽ ἴχνος εὑρίσκεσθαι τῆς Μυκηναίων πόλεως; doch haben Pausanias (2, 16, 4 f.; 7, 25, 3) und neuere Reisende (Curtius, Pelop. 2, 500. 570; Göttling, Ges. Abh. 1, 48) noch Reste von Mauern, unterirdischen Anlagen, Tempeln u. s. w. gefunden. Die Gegend, in der die Stadt gestanden hatte, etwa 2 Stunden nördlich von Argos (urbe), scheint Mycenica genannt und an u. St. gemeint zu sein.
