SESTINUM
(Sestino) Umbria, Italy.
A site
near the headwaters of the river Pisaurus. It is mentioned
only by Pliny (
HN 3.114), but inscriptions show that
it belonged to the tribus Clustumina, and the site still
preserves its ancient name. Its graves go back to the 6th
c. B.C., and inscriptions attest a flourishing life through
the 4th c. of our era. There is a small Antiquarium Sestinate adjacent to the Pieve.
