SEP. Q. HATERII

the tomb of a Q. Haterius, perhaps the orator who died in 26 A.D. (Pros. ii. 126. 17), on the via Nomentana. It was covered by one of the towers which Honorius built outside the porta Nomentana, and the excavations of 1827 brought to light fragments that showed it to have been a rectangular monument, surmounted with a sort of altar with volutes (CIL vi. 1426, and description cited from Memorie Romane iii. 456; HJ 383; Jord. i. I. 344; PBS iii. 38; Homo, Aurelien 243-244; cf. HATERIUS LATRONIANUS, DOMUS.
