Fut. ἀροῦμαι [α^] and aor. ἀρόμην, ἤρετο, etc., inf. ἀρέσθαι [α^], belong to ἄρνυμαι, q.v.; ἤρα^το may have displaced ἤρετο in Hom, cf. Eust. ad Il.3.373. The sense attach found in compds. συν-, παρ-αείρω is prob. derived from the use v.1.)
