Paternus, Tarrutēnius

A Roman jurist, probably the person who as praetorian praefector was put to death by Commodus for alleged treason (Lamprid. Comm. 4). He wrote a treatise in four books called Militarium, or De Re Militari, quoted in the Digest. See Dirksen in his Hinterlassen Schriften, ii. 412.
