Peneleōs
(
Πηνέλεως). One of the Argonauts, son of Hippalcmus and
Asteropé. He was numbered among the suitors of Helen and was the father of
Opheltes. He led the Boeotians in the Trojan War, slaying Ilioneus and Lycon; and was himself
wounded by Polydamus and killed by Eurypylus, son of Telephus. See Pausan. ix. 5, 8;
