COELE´TAE

COELE´TAE a Thracian people, divided into majores and minores, the former of whom dwelt at the foot of Mount Haemus, and the latter about Mount Rhodope. (Plin. Nat. 4.18; Liv. 38.40; Tac. Ann. 3.38.) The district which they inhabited was called Coeletica.
