DIMALLUM

DIMALLUM (Δίμαλος, Διμάλη, Διμάλλη, Plb. 3.18, 7.9), an important fortress in Illyricum, taken by the Romans under L. Aemilius Paulus, in their war with Demetrius of Pharos; and which seems to have been in the neighbourhood of the Parthini, if not included within their territory. (Liv. 29.12; Polyb. l.c.)
