PAULO

PAULO (Paglione), a river of Liguria, rising in the Maritime Alps, and flowing into the sea under the walls of Nicaea (Nice). (Plin. Nat. 3.5. s. 7; Mel. 2.4.9.) It is now called the Paglione, and is a considerable mountain torrent in winter and spring.
