VIROVESCA

VIROVESCA (Οὐιρούεσκα, Ptol. 2.6.53), a town of the Autrigones in Hispania Tarraconensis, on the road from Pompelo to Asturica (Itin. Ant. pp. 394, 450, 454; Plin. Nat. 2.3. s. 4). It is the modern Briviesca. (Cf. Florez, Esp. Sayr. xxiv. p. 10, xxvii. p. 13.) Coins in Sestini (p. 211).
