Apellas

or APOLLAS (Ἀπελλᾶς, Ἀπολλᾶς).

1. The author of a work Περὶ τῶν ἐν Πελοποννήσῳ πόλεων (Athen. 9.369a.) and Δελφικά. (Clem. Alex. Protr. p. 31a., Paris, 1629.) He appears to be the same as Apeilas, the geographer, of Cyrene. (Marc. Heracl. p. 63, Huds.) Comp. Quint. Inst. 11.2.14; Böckh, Praef. ad Schol. Pind. p. xxiii., &c.
