Ti'tia Gens

plebeian, is rarely mentioned in the republican period, and did not rise out of obscurity till a very late time. None of its members obtained the consulship under the republic ; and the first person of the name who held this office was M. Titius in B. C. 31. In the times of the empire, the Titii bore various surnames, a list of which is given below. [TITIUS.]

In the article on Soranus, we find: "at this present time (1848)" and this date seems to reflect the dates of works cited. 1873 - probably the printing date.
