Coree Indians,

A small tribe of Algonquians on the coast of upper North Carolina. These and the Cheraws and other smaller tribes occupied lands once owned by the powerful Hatteras tribe. They were allies of the Tuscaroras in an attack upon the English in 1711, and were defeated; and they have since disappeared from the face of the earth, and their dialect has been forgotten.
