Author; born in Paterson, N. J., Feb. 25, 1816; graduated at Princeton in 1834; one of the editors of the New York Evening post from 1836 to 1886. Among his works are Pacific and constructive Democracy; A popular view of Fourier; Dictionary of biography; Political essays, etc.
