Hamilton, Thomas 1789-1842

Author; born in England in 1789; joined the British army; was commissioned captain of the 29th Regiment; served in the War of 1812, and later engaged in literary work. His publications include Men and manners in America (which met with little favor in the United States owing to its depreciation of American character), etc. He died in Pisa, Italy, Dec. 7, 1842.
