Sumner, Charles Allen 1835-

Lawyer; born in Great Barrington, Mass., Aug. 2, 1835; received an academic education; was congressman-at-large in 1883-85; engaged in journalism, being editor at different times of the Sacramento Sentinel, San Francisco Mirror, etc. He is the author of A government postal Telegraph; Compilation of speeches in Congress and elsewhere, on a genuine postal Telegraph; Golden Gate sketches; Cremation, etc.
