Waldo, Samuel Putnam 1780-1826

Author; born in Connecticut in 1780; applied himself to literature, and published Narrative of a Tour of observation made during the summer of 1817, by James Monroe, President of the United States, with sketch of his life; Memoirs of Gen. Andrew Jackson; Life and character of Stephen Decatur; and Biographical sketches of Com. Nicholas Biddle, Paul Jones, Edward Preble, and Alexander Murray. He died in Hartford, Conn., in March, 1826.
