The condition of the Federal Treasury.
--The
Secretary of the Treasury has sent to Congress a statement of the condition of the U. S. finances.

For the War Department | 1,521,131.00 |
For the Navy Department | 1,060,000.00 |
For the Post-Office Department | 700,000.00 |
Requisitions of War and Navy not complied with | 1,852,925.19 |

There is in the Treasury, subject to the draft of the
Treasurer of the
United States, but little more than $500,000, and there are requisitions in the Treasury Department amounting to nearly two million of dollars unanswered.
