The Appropriation Bill allows, to pay expenses of the General Assembly for the session commencing on the 7th day of January, 1861, the sum of $125,000; and to pay expenses of the Convention, assembled on the 13th of February, 1861, $75,000. The above items are but faint echoes of the "cost of government."
