The crops and the prospects.

--From all parts of the country we receive the most flattering accounts from our farmers of their prospects of the wheat crops. Many are done planting corn and have commenced planting cotton. If nothing befalls the grain crop, it will be unusually large this year in North Mississippi. This is just as it should be. We can and should raise all our breadstuffs, meats, horses and mules. We should not be dependent on others for the necessaries — the essentials of life, when we can raise and furnish them ourselves as easily and cheaply as any people on earth.--Holly Springs (Miss.)
