Bold Venture.
--The steamer
Georgeanna is at
Old Point, having reached there Sunday morning, but was not allowed to pass the blockade.
It is in print that the
Lincoln authorities propose to allow the bay steamers to run between
Baltimore and the
Fort, provided she will submit to strict search, and then transfer to the steamer
Wm. Selden such articles as may be allowed to come to this port.--
Gen. Gwynn at once repudiated the idea.
Ascertaining this, passengers aboard for the
South, slipped away from the Georgeanna last night under cover of the heavy storm, reached here last night in the severest of the storm in an open boat, and left this morning in the cars.
It was a bold feat.--
