A New rumor.

--A correspondent of the New York Times writes from Washington that he has learned, "from sources entitled to unquestionable credit, that the British Government, acting in concert with that of France, is about to request of the United States Government the exemption of one Southern cotton port from the blockade, so that they may get needful supplies of the staple."
