The late engagement at Lewinsville — a Correction.

In your paper of a recent date a correspondent from Fairfax C. H., in giving an account of the fight at Lewinsville on the 25th ult., fails to do justice to the First Regiment of Regulars from Georgia. That fine body of soldiers, under command of Lt. Col. Magill, arrived on the field early in the engagement, and for a considerable length of time received a terrible fire of shot and shell from the enemy's batteries. Throughout the entire engagement and subsequent pursuit, they evinced undaunted courage and heroism, and deserve to be honorably mentioned in connection with that expedition.

The following regiments were present:--Kershaw's Third South Carolina, Seventeenth Virginia, First Regiment Georgia Regulars, and Ninth Georgia Volunteers.
