--The Augusta Chronicle and Sentinel of Wednesday last, says:

‘ A gentleman from Lumpkin county exhibited to us, yesterday, five ‘"nuggets"’ of pure gold, taken from a vein lately discovered in Lumpkin county. Each lump was computed to be worth from twenty to twenty-five dollars, and together they formed a beautiful sight in these days of flimsy shinplasters — We understand the essay office in Dabl mega is soon to be put in operation, and we trust that ‘"mintdrops."’ will not much longer be a strange sight to our people.
